What is so cheap about buying an LS1 shaft? Its a used part just like any other part of the vehicle. For us that dont drag race im sure it's just fine for the road.

I've put some pretty hard launches on mine and its held up just fine
. Need to install my spohn tourque arm with the driveshaft loop and not have to worry about it. I've seen people take the LS1 shaft into the 11's. Seems their is just a bad bunch out there or improperly installed.

TPIS Driveshaft is ok
I just installed a TPIS aluminum driveshaft. Very satisfied so far. Yeah I paid $324 plus shipping - but it's new, balanced has spicer u joints and no surprises. I got this because I recently went to a 3.73 rear end and now the drive shaft spins 20% faster than before. At 80 mph or so vibrations came in. With the new driveshaft no vibrations, very smooth.
