Sumone help me out here??
Ok, so i got the new motor about to be put in with my nasty new 700r4, overdrive is still the same, 3000 stall on it LS1 driveshaft, and now we were dabating on what gears should we stick in the rear end, my cuz says 4:56 should be fine in it cuz when we put 4:10 in one of my friends camaro's it was fast, but it coulda been faster with some 4:56's ...i donno...i dont wanna go crazy with gears so i max out real quick so if anyone can give me some RPM numbers and speeds i will be doing with 3:73's some 4:10's and the all crazy 4:56's...thanx in advance...alex...

Agreed. You don't want to top out before you hit the traps w/ the gears....

The first gear in the 700r4 is 3.06:1 ratio... you might have trouble with traction if you go much higher than 3.73 or 4.10

Well, the motor is makin 450 horses about the same for torque that are happy to to about 7000 rpm, i got the pill for the msd, the tranny is stock basically gear wise, cept for first, so the rest of the gearing is the same, now what would be ideal, im thinkin stick with 4:11 for now....and if i dont max out then ill do 4:56 or 4:88 hahaha...,
It doesnt have to be right up to the dot on the oney correct, i just want to get a baseline for this ....thanx guys
