Transmission slipping

Hello, great site/:hail: I'm 17 and my first car is an 86 Camaro 2.8 with AT. I have a problem with my trans. slipping in all forward gears only. Is it somthing simple? or should I just change the tranny?
$$ is tight so what is the least expensive option? What type of converter is best for everyday driving ?

.......any good used 700r4 out there....
Thanks Andy

welcome to the board and to thirdgens

sounds like rebuild time to me, though those are not cheap unless you do it yourself. Maybe pick up a used one for your cheapest option.

IMO 700r4's are unreliable garbage boxes

edit: post a want add in the classifieds if you want a used one.

Sounds like it is indeed rebuild time. What color is the fluid?

How much did you pay for the car? I had an 85 LB8 auto and had a great 15,000 miles with that car.

Thanks for the Information, I thought it didn't sound good for me. My car was slipping alittle in D and below but OD was fine untill... I got almost a year of driving it before it went. I'll check the classifieds and see what I can find. Summer is almost here got to have wheels. I'm glad I found this site. There is alot of good ideas and car smart people here. Thanks agian, Andy
