Removing 700r4

I am removing the tranny from my 89 GTA. I have removed almost everything the manual says except the Dipstick Tube. I cannot find the bolt that holds it on. Can anyone tell me where I might look for the bolt.

It is the 350 by the way.

Thanks,
Eric

Well if you have removed everything that the book has instructed you to, then chances are your bolt is already out. The dipstick is mounted to one of the bell housing bolts. IIRC there should be 6 bell housing bolts. Most you can get from under the car. I always get the top two from above while using a ratcheting flat wrench.

FWIW, i removed the tranny w/ my motor all at one time and didn't have to remove the dipstick. Made sure i didn't pancake it on the firewall though.

I see this thread is 3 months old, but I wanted to sound smart for a second

We had previously disconnected everything else though...

so how'd it go?
