Backlash and speedo gear question...

I just got a set of motive 3.73s. I have heard they like a wider backlash? Or something of that nature. I heard like .11 or something. Guy installing my gears asked me what backlash the motives used and I'm not for sure.

Also which speedo gears do I need?

specs should of been etched on the gears or instruction sheet. WAG i'd say .008 or so would be upper limit, but i've never used motive gears.

I didn't get an instruction sheet.

And the gear is already mounted and torqued down to the posi unit. I took out the bolts and I couldn't get the ring gear off. Its on there good. I was searching through posts one night and I thought I remember someone saying like .011'' for motive gears. I just want to confirm it first. But if I have it setup at .008'' it would probably loosen up after being driven and work out pretty good.

For what it's worth the instruction sheet with my Motive 9" gears said .008-.012" backlash.

Most aftermarket gear applications run from .008-.012" on backlash settings. I like to run mine when I set them up at .008-.010".
