torqued off

I may need to replace my torque convertor. I am running a th700r4, with a mild stall, will a 2800 stall convertor work from a th200r4? i have access to a brand new one free! Or am i stuck running to the crap yard as these stall convertors arent cheap new...

If its a 27 spline 700R4, it should work fine. All the 2004R's were 27 spline units and use the same converter as an '82-'84 700R4 (which were 27 spline input shafts).

Be careful because some of the 84 700r4's like the one that came in my 84 TA were 30 spline. Thats the year they changed over. Some were 27 some were 30.

Yeah, I pulled a 700R4 out of an junkyard '84 impala to rebuild and it was a 30 spline unit..
