Axle Spline Wear & Tear Ques.

Hey Everyone,

Just curious as to what everyone thinks of these axle splines. I am not familiar with normal wear & tear on the splines of axles & wanted to know everyones opinions on these pics. These are just some used 26 spline axles out of an 83 Camaro & just wanted to know if they still look usable. Any info on this would be great. Thanks

spline don't wear, or shouldn't wear. i'd worry about the chip on the button end near where the c clip goes.

Those are utterly worthless. They have got to be the most wasted axles I've ever seen that weren't broken off. They've been getting used for something besides being axles it looks like, in addition to whatever wear they got in the normal fashion.

If I was the betting kind, I'd bet the place where the axle bearings ride is obliterated too.

I guess somebody's garbage men wouldn't take them, so he couldn't throw them away, so now they're your problem. Sorry you got screwd like that. Somebody giving you that is about llike somebody taking a dump on your front doorstep..... sure it's free; but do you really need that around your house? Did they do you a favor? I don't think so.
