Diff yoke interchange??

I have to replace a pinion seal and i am afraid that the yoke could have a grove in it causing it to leak.

Would a yoke from different years fit my 89?

Does it matter it is comes from a Auto or manual car , 9 or 10 bolt, aluminium or steel driveshaft, posi or non posi, V6 or V8???

I am heading to a junk yard soon so any info would be great..

No.

Yes.

Grab another f-body shaft in the yard from a 10 bolt car, and find another car or S10 or whatever w/ a 7.5" and if the u-joint fits, you're good to go.
