Left T5 outside... shaft kinda rusty, what to do?
I bought a used T5 a while back, and it was safe in my van. Well, the van is gone, so it has been outside for almost a week now.
It rained the past 2 days, and the shaft that comes out of the front of it got rusty!
Can I sand this? Should I just leave it? I know the end sits in the pilot bearing, and I don't want to ruin my new one!

Get as much of the rust off as you conveniently can with a rag and some transmission fluid or brake fluid; then sand the rest with some 400 sandpaper. Wire-brush the clutch splines.
