Changeing Rearend fluid

I have a 91 camaro v6 with Limited Slip I got mobil 1 75-90 Gear oil and i also got the posi addative. Do i need to add the addative or can i just use the mobil 1 the addative was 3 dollars i jsut dont want to mess up my rearend gears.

if the additive was 3 dollars return it and get some from gm parts. you need the additive with clutch type posi rears.

I'd a;mpst bet money it doesn't have limited slip, unless you put it there yourself. So unless you personally installed it (or paid somebody to do it), I wouldn't worry aboiut the additive.

If it really is a posi, you do need it however.

Liej ede said, the stuff from GM is much better, get that instead .... if you really have a posi.

Basicly when i floor the car the passanger side tire will spin and the drive side one will chatter trying to get grip. That would be limited slip right? So would i need the addative with that. The addative i got is made by trans X.

That would be "unlimited slip"..... open, no posi, no limited slip. No additive required.

But, it won't hurt to have it on hand, just in case.
