my uncle is selling his monte carlo to me!!

$500 including 3:23 rear out of a Z28....FULL REAR END

my question is.....how hard is it to swap out the rear end from the Z to the monte? Both are 87's and full posi. I was told that I had to take the guts out and swap out the guts....if i take it to a shop...how much is this looking to cost me?

 

why do you want to if they're the same thing. you can swap carriers but you'd end up with what you already have. should take a few hours to do. call shops in your area and ask for a quote.

 

cause he destroyed the bearings in the one that's on there.

 

then the simplest thing would be to replace the bearings

 

anyone know any good shops that won't kill me on labor to do something like that? I'm in the hudson valley...Poughkeepsie.

 

um...what is the difference in coil over and leaf spring 3.23 posi rear's? Seems I may have 2 different rears....
Also, I am just going to do a bearing and seal reman and be done with it...so i'll have a 3.23 for sale in the near future.
