T-5 is whistling

Anyone ever hear one of these things whistle? I'm guessing this means the old girl's getting low on fluid. I have heard that they take gear oil and I have heard that they take ATF. What's the concensus? I'm at work and can't refer to my owner's manual/shop manuals, so I'm not sure why to buy on the way home. A little help please.

The T-5s in our third gens use ATF not gear oil. Dextron is what you are suppose to use. Yes you are probabaly low on fluid if it is making noise. Take the top plug out and stick your finger in the hole, it should be to the bottom of the plug threads.
