T/C Slipping?
T/C Slipping?
I've been suspecting my torque convertor to be bad or my tranny needing to be rebuilt because I can't spin the wheels without power braking.
I put my car in Drive, not Overdrive. I was crusing at about 55mph and got on the gas pretty hard, there was a hesitation, my RPMs jumped up, but my speed didn't go anywhere. It didn't down shift, the RPMs just climbed by about 500rpm suddenly.
Solutions?
Is it my torque convertor going out?

definetly sounds like your tranny is starting to slip. If theres a rise in rpms and no acceleration, its slipping. Did it eventually catch or did it just keep revving???
Not being able to spin the tires sux, especially in a 3rdgen, but that could be a large number of things, such as having a lame rearend and really really good tires.... etc.
