is my 700r4 shot?
Alright heres what happens. If I put the car in drive it'll shift into 2nd but only goes to about 45mph and starts revving up real high. If I put the car in 1st and leave it there itll shift on its own and I can drive 55 mph at 3000rpm. Even though I can drive it if I leave the shifter in 1st it seems like a few too many RPM and it will not go through all the gears. So far I've adjusted the shifter linkage and the TV cable with no luck.

The trans is slipping. A lot of people are quick to blame problems like this on the TV cable. It never solves the problem. Basically the clutches are worn out and the trans needs to be either rebuilt or replaced.
