Installed new tranny, car runs like crap
I had a garage install my new tranny (Pro Built) and now the car runs like crap. It is fine when in park and you rev it up, but when you put it into drive it seems to struggle to stay running. I drove it around and it seems like it is late in shifting and it wont really rev.
I checked the TV cable at the throttlebody and there is about 10cm worth of free play in there when the gas pedal isn't pressed. I'm wondering if this is just that they haven't set the cable correctly?
Only other thing to note is I also got a new distributer gear as the old bronze one was chewed up. This could sem like an obvious place to start looking for the problem but as I said, the car is fine in park or neutral.
The shifter is also a little tight, is this just because the tranny is new?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Robert

I believe I have solved the problem, or at least know what the problem is. Called Dana who told me what the TV cable should be set to and how to adjust it as I've never had to touch this thing before. There was over an inch of slack on the cable. That's cured the shifting issues I believe.
As for the running of the car. A couple of my plug wires have been touching the headers (one was even smoking) so I'm putting the running condition down to that. I'll be ordering new wires tomorrow to fit for Friday.
Hopefully I can have this sorted by the weekend as after a few months of having no car I'm begining to get frustrated.
