Hurst shift kit question.....
It says to remove all 6 ***** from my TH400 but to only reinstall 3 of them???????
is this right, or a screwed up instruction?
i have 6 in there right now and it won't build up any pressure...
Here is a link to the instructions...: http://go.mrgasket.com/pdf/2858602_2of2.pdf
Thanks,
Dave

That's correct. The check ***** do less-than-desireable-for-performance things like keep 2nd engaged while 3rd engages for smoother shifting (has the unfortunate consequence of wearing out the friction parts with repeated high-power shifts). I forget off the top of my head what the other two do.
Ron Session's book is excellant for explaining all of these things. For instance, clarified the above example when neither the guy who rebuilt the tranny nor TCI (source of my shift kit) could explain it.
