Engine: 5.8L 355
Transmission: T-5 5-speed
T56 flywheel
I'm planning on a T56 swap for my T-5. The thing is I have a 2 piece rear seal engine. I know I need the centerforce flywheel to make it work. But I had my rotating assembly balanced with my T5 flywheel. If I get a T56 and the centerforce flywheel. will the flywheel mess up my balance???

No. They're both balance weighted the same if you used an 83-85 f-body T5 flywheel and buy the Centreforce for the same engine type.

I noticed that they drilled some on my flywheel. So I figured, that my rotating assembly would be balanced with this flywheel, and if I got another one it would mess up that balance. Is it at all possible to use my 85 flywheel with my T56?

Click & see drilled spots, they're bone stock.

Don't worry about the drilling. That was done in the machining phase before the flywheel even went to the plant to be mounted to the engine. All you need for it to work is the Centerforce "T56 to a 2-piece RMS" flywheel, part #700107. As long as the flywheel is stock-weighted it will be just fine.

Ok, the only thing that suck is the centerforce is damn pricy. If thats what it will take, then no problem. I was just worried about the balancing.

That's still simple enough.....get the Centerforce flywheel, take it and your T-5 flywheel to the machine shop, and tell them you want the Centerforce balanced to match the stocker. It's a pretty common job when dealing with big-blocks so they shouldn't have any trouble doing it.

But is that a necessity to keep my engine from vibrating???? Cuz sounds like I need that flywheel, no way around it. But my concern is the balance. When I get the centerforce, will I have to go get it balanced????

I'd just put it in and run it like it is.
Oh wait..... I'm only saying that, because that's what I did with mine when I did the swap, and it worked fine.
I'm betting the reason they had to balance on your old one, was because it had warped slightly, and when it was re-surfaced at some time or other, it knocked it out of balance. They didn't "custom balance" it to something other than neutral. If they did, you need to find a new machine shop.
