Engine: 305 i think
Transmission: no clue
help please

i was wondering how u could tell what kind of transmission that is in the car and what sort of drivetrain...I would also like to know how you can tell gear ratios and such.

Any input is greatly appreciated Thanks

RPOs will tell you what it left the factory with. to know what's in it you have to look at what is in it

so where would i go about looking at them cause my car is all pieced together i don't think anything is factory anymore

A3, A4, M5? pans of autos and side cover of manuals will ID them. # of bolts on the rear cover will ID the rear. the ratio is usually stamped o nthe enge of the ring gear, or you can count teeth

As far as trans goes, that picture says it all. To find out about the engine, look behind the drivers side head, at the block. Use a flashlight, and get the casting number off the block. Take that to any internet decoding site and there you go. Some of them are as follows: www.nastyz28.com www.mortec.com

lol, could you elaborate on your situation a bit more? why do you not know what year it is? title? and do you have overdrive? if so, it would kinda have to be a 700r4, correct?
