everything went as planned until the actual seal and this is now the 5th day my car has been down........all i need is to know how to get the damn seal out. its starting to make me mad!!! ive got a seal puller but all the seal does is bend and rip through the metal around the rubber part. any tips? i need to drive this car!!!!

i use a slide hammer seal puller, try pulling just a little bit and moving around the seal to the other side.

 

Adding to what ede said, AutoZone has slide hammer seal/bearing pullers in their loan-a-tool inventory. I used their stuff last month when I replaced my axle bearings and seals, really easy w/ the right tool.
