Car: 1982 chevy camaro
Engine: 305cfi
Transmission: 700r4
whats my tranny?

i got an '82 with a 305, auto, no over drive, just 1 2 D is this a 350 turbo? i need a torque converter cover for it an was wondering if the one from a 700r4 would bold up? or if anyone has one they would want to get rid of

Im not sure about the torque converter cover, but the 3 speed auto you have is the TH200 if its stock.

Yeah stock it was th200c, a th350 is just about a direct bolt in for these. Its well worth it, since the th200c should be broken by now.

Haha. I agree.

No, a 700r4 converter won't bolt up. I second the notion of swapping out to a TH350. Converters are far mroe readily available for them as the th350 is a far mroe popular choice for upgrading.

Its probably not stock the queers who had my old V6 Cam. destroyed the transmision and dropped in a 3 speed

thanks alot guys, that picutre really helps too. its eaither a TH200 or 350. i would tell ya for sure but i can't fit under the car unless its on the lift

Its easy to tell the difference, see if there is a vacuum modulator on the passenger side of the tranny about in the middle of it. It looks like a little can with a vacuum line running to it. If it does then it is a th350. If i has a little wiring plug around the pan, then it is a th200c.

And the TH350-C has both since the plug is for lockup. (my 83 SS has that stock.)
