Torque Converter Shudder
I have an 87 Z28 with an L98 and a 700R4, both factory remans with less than 15K miles on them. I am having a problem with what feels like torque converter shudder in the form of a vibration that just started about 3 weeks ago. My symptoms are as follows mild vibration during regular acceleration that gets worse when tcc goes into lockup. TCC is locking up in 2nd - 4th gears, unlocks when I accelerate hard but after locking up during regular driving, it will not unlock unless I lift off the gas pedal. I have tried the test where you tap the brakes while driving with the TCC in lockup and it does not unlock. I have replaced the plug wires and checked both my ignition coil and pick up coil and they all ohm out okay.
Is my torque converter bad, or is there an electrical problem with the TCC lock up system?
Any help is appreciated.
