Is 4th gen v6 stuff any good?

I started calling today about the T56, driveshaft and rear that I wanted to get from a 4th gen for my 88 camaro.

The first (sometimes second) question was v6 or v8 and I told them v8 because I am not sure what the other cars had.

I know the tranny has to come from a v8. Driveshaft most likely needs to come from T56 car to have the right length. Am I right on this one?

What about the rear? Did v8/v6's have different rears? Is there a way to find out what the ratio is on those things before buying it, because the one guy who said he had a rear, didn't have a clue on the ratio? VIN? option codes?

So far I only found that one place that had the rear, the guy wanted $450 for it. What do you guys think about that price?
