difference between v6/v8 rear ends

Hey guys,

I've been asking this for a while, and still can't find any answers. Is there any difference (size/strength/components) between v6 and v8 rear ends from 4th gens?

I am looking to swap on in, but everytime they ask v6 or v8, I tell them I need from v8 because I just don't know about the other ones.

Been calling places for week and a half now, and could really use some help on this one.

93-97 V6's got drum brakes, 98-02 all had disc,

Other than this ratios and posi or not varied from car to car, 98-02 v6 cars with the performance option had 3.42 and posis.

The 93-97 housings are all the same drum or disc.

Thanks. This is what I needed to know. So if I ask for a rear with disks, then from that point it is only what gear ratio I want.
