having real serious problems with my transmission .FORD?

I have just buy a 87 trans am , it has a 350 carburated engine 5 speed, it has allways been hard to shift gears, and my clutch just died, so I called my mechanic and he pulled out the clutch and transmision, so i send my clutch kit to get fix, after it got fixed we pulled the everything back to the car but it doesn't shift at all, so we pulled the transmission out and he is now telling me that my transmission is from a ford and it got custome add by the prebius owner, and that i have to buy some clucth stuff from a ford. is this possible that my 350 have a ford transmission?

no ford T5 wouldn't fit or work, it also not very likely you have a 350 with a M5, unless someone swaped it in after it left the factory.

yeah' I all ready fix the car the transmision is from a 305, and yeah the engine was swaped, it should be fuel injection 305 but the previous owner swaped it for a carburated 350.
