Axle/Gears: 2.77 9 Bolt

I want to buy a rebuilt transmission off ebay:

How can I find out what "ATA1390A" means and if it will really fit my '88 IROC with 5.7L? Is this code found on my transmission case? Or is this an RPO code or GM part number?
I already called this person on ebay and they say it's not a TH700R4 but is a 4L60.
