What's wrong? TV cable? Vortec bracket? Help!

Overview: My transmission is slipping... but I don't know if it's due to wear or if the TV isn't adjusted properly. I have had this problem for over 5,000 miles, so it seems to me the tranny would have given up by now (or got worse) if it were slipping due to wear and tear. Another option could be that the cooler lines have been bent or smashed or clogged.

Symptoms: My car shifts manually from 1-2 just fine, very firm. The shifts from 2-3 and 3-4 are lackluster at best. The symptoms have not gotten worse, nor improved obviously. You'd think after 5k the tranny would just quit, right?

Diagnostics: I have the TV cable set into the Vortec mounting bracket (edelbrock, p/n unknown at the moment) and it cannot get any tighter at WOT. It's all the way as far back as it can get in the current state. At the most, it's a tiny bit loose to the point where it shouldn't matter. The ATF is about 35k miles old and I have no idea how old the filter is. Previous owner claimed a tranny flush a month before he sold the car (stock).

I asked ShiftyCapone about it, and he said Chuck! is still dealing with his 700r4 with similar problems. I'm wondering if there's something I overlooked. Help me out guys!
