plz help, dead car....again

okay so i put in the 2002 WS6 rear end the other day, and put 70W90 synthetic gear oil in it, w/the limited slip additive...that is just what the manual called for...then i put the silicone on for the seal and all that good stuff, it hasnt been leaking. but today when i was driving i heard some weird noise...like it souns like a chain dragging the ground or someone running along a fence on a chain length fence....i know its in the rear of the car. kinda sounds in the middle or maybe even on the right rear wheel area...it does need a brake job, the right side squeeks from that as well, but what could this be??? i did have to punch out the bolts on the axle and put different ones in, but everything should be all sealed up, now i dont knowwhat to do,and dont know if it will be okay to drive home, could it be the gears, or a bearing or what? i looked and nothing is hanging down....im stumped

Parking brake cable dragging on the drive shaft?

I wouldn't drive it anywhere until I found it. Park the car on a curb or something to where you can crawl under it, if you don't have a jack & stands. Not much point in risking anything from a wheel or axle coming off, or something catastrophic and total loss of control like that. It's probably nothing serious; but until you know, the rest of us out here in meatspace would all appreciate that you don't risk our lives at the same time as you risk yours.
