Engine: 305 to 350 to 383 to BOOM!!!
Transmission: 5-speed
Axle/Gears: 3.73 10-bolt
Trans Swap Question
I have a 1986 5.0 TPI Trans Am, althought i am sure this has been posted, I could not find any posts on switching the transmisoins from a 700-R4 to a T-5 transmis and i was wondering will this work, will the transmisoin work with the computer, Is the driveshift the same lenght? Any other problems that might pop up. Any advice would be great, Thanks

The swap is pretty straight foreward. There is a different prom for between the two but it can work without changing proms. The drivshaft is the same. Its also the same lenth as the 4th gens.
