The guy already said he's going to pop the cover off anyways, why tell him not to now? He might as well replace the fluid. Its part of regular maintenence, and should be done when acquiring any used car.
in 100% agreement with you!

All I am saying is that there are other ways to determine the ratio.

Like it or not it works.

UMM.. OK

i was looking at my dif cover and it has 10 bolts is that stock for a 84 camaro that came with a stock 305? and i found a thing on this site that tells me what rpms i should be at in different gears with different gears in the rear like an example: 3.73 in second doing 35 my rpms should be at 2979 then with 2.73 doing 35 in second my rpms should be at 2180. should i believe this or is it inaccurate information?
this is with my gear ratio for my trans in second being at 1.63 and in 1st 3.06 3rd 1.00 and 4th or od .70

Transmission: Who orders an auto in a Camaro??
Axle/Gears: Economy gears..once again, WHY?!?
"My uncles friends cousin told me that if you pull out the number one plug, put the transmission in reverse, and turn the wheels backwards, you can tell the gears by how many bubbles you hear in the gas tank. "

OMG LMAO THAT'S THE FUNNIEST THING I'VE HEARD IN A WHILE. LOL!

On top of that, I've never in my life seen more procrastination.

Alright smartass, I have 4.10 gears in my Camaro which means that the tire rotates 4.1 times for every revolution of the driveline.
You don't have that mixed up a little? Don't see how the tyre is going to spin more times then the driveline itself.

Don't you mean 4.1 revolutions of the driveline to 1 rotation of the tyre?

Yeah, I got burned like that on my car once too because I took the seller's word about my car. He said it was a 9-bolt, and I didn't check. Turns out it's a 7.5" when one of my buddies looked at it. Still haven't pulled the cover to count the teeth on the gears. Doesn't matter though, whenever it blows it's 12-bolt time.

If you need any help with your car, let me know. I'm right over in HG and know 3rd gens pretty well.
LOL LOL! when i bought my first z28, the seller told me it had a 305ci with a th200,

after checking some numbers and pullingb the heads, it appeared to be a 350ci with a th350,
