Can't downshift to 3rd

Car: 1989 Flame Red GTA 5spd, 89 Bright
Engine: 305tpi and 350tpi
Transmission: Auto and 5spd
Can't downshift to 3rd
Hello again! I have a new problem. My 89 305tpi/5spd is having trouble downshifting into 3rd gear. It will upshift into 3rd with no problems but if I try to go from 4th to 3rd it won't go in unless I'm almost stopped. Any ideas?

More than likely you may have garbage in your TV Valve...does it downshift from third to 2nd or 1st?
To clean it, drop your pan. Remove the accumulator housing and valve at passenger front of tranny. Pull pin at end next to cable, and the TV housing should come out. Clean it up and put it back in.

Not to be rude, but he said T-5, thats a manual tranny. I have this same problem in my 89 firebird formula, 305 TPI, T-5. Replacing the synchros is about the only solution. I tried changing the tranny fluid, didn't help. Any one have any other ideas please let us know
