Ticking from trans....

I just noticed. Once in a while when I start up the IROC-Z, there is a ticking coming from around the TQ converter area. It only lasts for about 30-60 seconds then goes away. Anyone know what this is?

My car makes a ticking sound as well at first. I thought it was coming from behind the dash, I don't know if it is as low as where the TC would be, but I'm curious to know what your problem is anyways.

That's what I thought. Any reason why it would go away so fast?

if it were loose bolts on the torque converter it wouldnt go away but it couldnt hurt to drop down and snug them up anyway ..

could it be a very small exhaust leak that when it gets heated up the leak gets sealed from expansion?

I noticed now that it is also ticking when revving too. If I hold it at 2,000 RPM it is pretty constant. Can a vibration be associated with this in any way? So far it is sounding like flexplate or loose bolts correct?

It could it be an exhaust leak, that when it heats up the leak seals from expansion? If it does not change, then most likely something in the flex plate & torque converter area.
