what to use to get both tires spinning
i am in the process of putting my 10 bolt together. the axle tubes will be welded, solid spacer, mac girdle with the preload bolts, moser 28 spline axles, and either 3.73 or 4.11- havent decided yet. at first i was going to go the cheap route and get a mini spool- but have since decided against that i think. is there much of a difference between the strength of an auburn or zexel (the camaro take-offs) posi units? also- i was thinking about the powertrax locker. which of the three or four would be my best choice? the vehicle will not be a daily driver.
*edit
as far as the strength goes- i dont know if it matters but the tires are hoosier qtp's

If the car sees any street time, then its probably better to run a posi. I have a SLP Torsen piece, and love it. Posi is what is used to get both wheels to "spin" as you put it, but better term would be its used to get the power to the ground via two wheels instead of one, doubling the traction capabilities. More traction equals quicker ETs.

sorry the way i worded my question probably made me sound like a newbie. i know what a posi is as well as how it works. i was just wanting to know which was the strongest.
the only street miles that it will see are those between the garage and the drag strip ('bout 10 miles each way) and trips to a few car shows.
also- when i was talking about welding the rear- i was ref. to the tubes- not the spider gears- i know better than that

If that is all it sees, you could run a locker IMO. Probably what I would do.
