Help with TV cable adjustment
I followed the tech article on this board for this adjustment. However, after I have pushed the plastic thingie back all the way and release the tang, the cable does not click (I hear no clicking) as I move the throotle to WOT.
What is the problem?
Edit: Another question would be: If the plastic slider is pulled out more toward the throotle WOT, does this make the tranny kick down harder or hardly at all?

With the throttle completly open, press the 'D' shaped tab and pull the TV cable housing all the way back to the firewall as hard as you can (but not so hard that you break it
). Release the tab and close the throttle. With the throttle opened all the way back up the cable should be nice and tight. If its loose or it ratchets way back out then theres something wrong. If you cant get the cable to adjust properly then dont drive the car untill you fix it.

I did a search and found that method. I did that and the tranny shifts harder and shift at higher RPMs. Just what I needed.
Thanks for the reply.

I just did that method too and took my car out for a rip run.
HOOOLY CRAP! That trans shifts a ton harder and it actually shifts normally while driving now. That's the last time I use the Haynes' manual's method.

Just maybe this method should have a tech article written up and saved in the tech article area.

I just got my new t.v. cable at work today, and i asked one of the fellow mechanics how to adjust it. He said the same method. This is gonna be cool. I hope my car shifts better than with the old cable. You could feel it shifting, but it was wimpy. It also seemed to shift way too early. I hope this will make it a ton better.
