freeze the bushing.

warm the tailhousing.

Drive in a new one.

It happens to all of us eventually.

I had that same problem when I replaced the 5 speed(mazda trans) in my son's Thunderbird SuperCoupe...
I had to beat the driveshaft in with a 2 pound sledge,,the car moved like the emergency brake was on for about 60 yards, then it was fine...
I questioned the guy at the tranny shop,he said its not uncommon...
i know I didnt answer your question, but just lettin you know what I have seen
Curious to know the CORRECT way to cure the problem

It's usually from a little lip being thrown up around the bushing from the installation process. They're right, just get the drive shaft in there, without hurting anything or pressing the bushing farther into the ext housing of course, and it will take care of itself.
