It's a strange question, but is it possible to get a jointed rear axle for a thirdgen Camaro? Like a Corvette setup, for example? I have never heard of it being done, but it seems like having the flexible axle would be a nice handling upgrade...

Yep, it can be done and it has been done. It's a fair amount of work and modification, but this guy did a pretty nice job and documented it well: http://www.quarter-mile.net/IROC_index.htm (click on the picture of the C4 IRS to get more pictures). You can also search the boards because there are other posts about this type of thing. I think it'd be a pretty sweet modification, but I don't know if I could justify the time, money, effort and expense.
