RPO codes unknown & rear end q's

Ok I've decoded my RPO codes again and I have a few that are not found in the database;

E7Z
X07
Z31

...keep in mind that this is a Canadian car, if that matters. Anyone know what these may be?

Also it decodes my rear end to be;

GU4 : AXLE REAR, 3.08 RATIO
G80 : AXLE POSITRACTION, LIMITED SLIP

Yes, the BW 9-bolt. I have two questions on the rear end. First how low of a ratio can I goto before I have to change to a series 3 carrier and who/where can I get replacement gears/carriers from. Secondly I believe I have to replace the rear wheel bearings. I have an aweful grinding/binding noise comming from the passenger rear which quickens as I accelerate. It started as a mild vibration but now it is a definate grinding which I can feel right through the gear shift (manual). Does this sound like rear wheel bearings or perhaps other damage? It is horrible in first gear and becomes almost unnoticable by the time I hit 5th gear.

Thanks... all replies are appreciated.

If you have a 3.08 gear you have a 10 bolt. Anything ratio higher will be a 3 series carrier gear. Plus, the GU4 and G80 RPO's were about as rare as they come when paired together. 99.99999% of all 3.08 T5 10 bolt cars have an open rear.

Thanks Shifty... I just assumed that because it was posi that it would be the 9 bolt BW, I suppose counting the bolts will quickly determin that it is a 10 bolt - or not.

Anyone know where I can get a series-3 carrier and gears for a decent price - located in Canada would be a bonus too!

Thanks!

Now that you have it identified you would need to pull the cover to find out what gear/carrier you have. I would look for a used gear/posi set out of a 4th gen or an late Z 3rd gen.

EDIT: By look I mean scour the local yards along with the classifieds section of various camaro sites.

Not thread hijacking or anythings, but my RPO codes state a 3.27, yet installed in my car is a 9bolt with a 3.08 non-posi

verified it yesterday

If you have a 3.27 you have a 9 bolt. The only way to tell what you really have is by pulling the cover and looking. RPO codes will not dictate gear/rear swaps from previous owners.

Hey, I have a GU4 and G80 on my RPO sticker of the '88 IROC I just picked up. It's a LB9/T-5 car as well. You said somethine about being rare combo?

For LO3 cars it is almost non existant. TPI is a different story. None the less, I didn't think TPI cars came with the 3.08 gear no less 3.08 and posi.
