Want to install shift kit & torque converter
1. First of all the mechanic is charging me $400 to do this & I want to know if that price is fair or should it be less money. (for work only Im bringing the parts.)
2. Im going to buy the TransGo kit. Is there anything else I should change inside the trans. while is opened?
3. I have no idea on which route to take on the converter. Any ideas & numbers will be apreciated. (I have a 88 305 TPI with SLP headers and full exhaut, Matched and ported intake all the way to the manifold.)
4. I have no knoledge on all of this other than what I read on this site, so if you guys have any advice or know something that Ive left out, help me out by letting me know.
Thanks .

that sounds like a pretty decent price. You may be able to find cheaper but you want someone who will do good work. I called around a while back on prices to install a shift kit, and i was quoted around 250 just for the shift kit install, and for the torque convertor the tranny has to be removed, so i think its pretty decent. As far as any other mods maybe a corvette servo?? im not too keen on transmissions.

I know that they are good, & they have experience on GM transmitions. But Im suposed to be geting beter price than normal & I was wandering if it was true.
By the way Im also geting a transmition cooler & new poly mounts.
