Im haveing a strange problem with my t56 that I cant figure out. somtimes when I start the car in the morning I cannot get the tranny to go into a gear. After i fight it a little, It will drop into a gear and then It is Ok. It shifts great out on the road I have never had the problem after the initial start up. I replaced the clutch/ pressure plate and flywheel with the spec stage 2 about a month ago. The pedal feels Ok and the fluid is good. I hate to take it out again Because it shifts so nice one I get going.
Any ideas would be great
Thanks

did you change the pilot bushing/bearing when you did the clutchjob?

It's the clutch pilot getting stuck in the pilot bushing/bearing. It will probably either cure itself, or become worse, to the point of total failure; either way, it won't take long for it to reach its conclusion.
I didnt change the pilot bearing this time but it has not been that long since I put a new one in. I probably should have changed it but it does not have that many miles on the old one. I did change the throw out. After reading some other posts I wonder if I could have a bubble in the master/ slave cylinder?

Just first gear? Or is it the same with reverse too? My 91 has the t56 and the thing gives me crap sometimes going int reverse, gotta put it into first and let off the clutch a little and than go into reverse, not sure if it's related or not.

not just first gear. I had a chance last night to drive it again. I really think it is the master/slave . The clutch is letting out within 2 inches of the floor. I bet it has a bubble and is not pushing the clutch far enough. It will go into a higher gear such as 4th easily then I can slip it into any gear without troubles.Just first gear?
