Searching SLP's site and noticed the HD zexel posi is $500. Is it a better design or what? I thought it was around 300$

$500? $300? They used to be sold as "take-off" units for $99. However, I don't see that anymore. Maybe they're sold out?

I know Summit advertises them as well, for the same price. Maybe you could give them a shot...

The take-off units were different. The take-offs were normal zexel-torsion posi's straight out of 4th gens that got the better rear-axle package. There was always a stronger HD version. But now it is much more expensive that it was.

IIRC, the take-offs are gone now. Ended with the last of the 4th gens, unless they are gonna do the same thing with the new GTO's.

Summit no longer has them either. I called there like 3 weeks ago looking for one. I ened up paying 150 for mine on ebay.

Yeah the take-offs are gone. I got one of the last ones awhile back. Then I sold everything. I'm still kicking myself in the ***.

No, it's not.

The normal price for the take-out zexels (if you bought one new and not as a low low mile takeout was in the 300$ range. The HD version cost more, and 500$ is about what it has always run.

The HD was never as cheap as the "normal" production one. And the "normal" production one was never 99$ unless you bought a take-out which is not new, and can't be sold for 300$.

I may have to get on ebay and get one of those eaton posi's with gears and install kit. They sell around $550. Sounds like a good deal to me.

I just need both tires to spin and I REALLY need to ditch the 2.73s. 3.73's should do well.
