I am having a royal sh*t fit trying to get this darn Dakota SGI-5b box to work. I have the p/n's for the two different speed sensors and I need to know the outputs for them and whether or not they are A/C or o/c signals....
First one is GM p/n : 8654750 This one is FULL electronic with reluctor ring on mainshaft.
Second is GM p/n : 10456088 This one is a hybrid. Gear driven with electronic output(as on 90-92 Camaro's).
I have tried everyway shown in the dakota instructions and some ways I have seen on this board with no success. I am hoping that if I have the actual #'s, I can narrow it down....
Last time I swap out tranny's from different vehicles on these "new" cars...
Thanks again!!
Joe

The second one is intended to be geared to put out 4004 pulses per mile. In other words, it puts out 4 pulses per driven gear revolution if you gear it right. GM speedos are calibrated to read 60mph with 1001 turns of the cable per minute.Originally posted by 71Suburban454

The first one you must do the math. Tyre size, reluctor ring tooth count and gear ratio will all be needed.
The math when setting up an SGI-5 can be frustrating. Your posts details suck or I'd have more to say about just putting the right gears & olde VSS into the new trans.

Thanks for the reply! I got it to work finally... I had the wrong wire hooked up for the output signal. Works like a charm now....
Thanks again
