Just found a rear out of a 4th gen Trans Am with rear disc brakes and posi that i'd like to put in my Camaro that has neither.I've read a couple of posts on the subject,and it seems pretty much a bolt on,but i've got a couple questions before i go further.Will my 15x7 aluminum z-28 wheels fit the 4th gen rear?I remember reading somewhere that you need spacers or adapters to fit 4th gen wheels on a third gen.I'd really like to keep my rims.Secondly,Can you just hook the old lines to the new rear without changing the master-cylinder or proportioning valve?I'm hoping this works out ,this would be an awesome upgrade for 500$ canadian.Thanks for your time.

 

You won't need spacers. Spacers are for fourth gen wheels on a third gen axle. You current wheels will stick out approx 2 inches on each side. You also mean a 93-97 rear correct? I don't know if LS1 rear brakes will clear 15", I don't think so though.

 

I think you'll need a new master cylinder if you're switching from a drum to disc rear.
