Stall Speed, Question
I had my transmission check today and they confirmed my fear, the transmission needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
Can anyone please tell me what the stall speed of my 700R-4 is? The car is a /87 5.7 T.P.I. G.T.A. I need to make sure my new converter has the correct stall speed or a stall speed that is better suited to my needs.
I am not sure if a stall speed other than stock would be a good idea or not. The car has some mild modifications, but is relatively a stock motor. I also pull a small trailer with a 900LB ATV on it.
Any recommendations on what stall speed I should use would be appreciated as well as any other recommendations on shift kits or other modifications that can be done.

Towing/racing requires two different converters entirely. But, I guess you could run a slightly larger stall and still pull a small trailer. I will give some good advice though. When you pull, leave the car in D not OD. This advice was given to me by a very good trans guru. He said towing in OD is not a good thing for a 700r4 trans.
