Just curious if anyone knows what make this posi is, whether its a clutch or cone type diff, and whether or not its rebuildable. I'm hoping to pick it up used if its a decent piece, its out of a 3rd gen 26 spline disc rearend. I assume this isn't a gov-lock diff right? Thanks for any information.

 

It's a clutch type, I'm not sure if you can get parts for it tho.

 

Looks like a REALLY old Auburn; like early 80s.

They do not sell parts for it any more.

Look for this to be cast into it somewhere.

 

Excellent thanks I won't bother with it then if I can't rebuild it, one more quick question, did GM use Eaton clutch type posi's in 7.5" rear ends during the 80's? I'm looking at bidding on a 26 spline factory eaton posi on ebay and I just want to make sure its legit, its got springs and plates in it so I assume its not a gov-loc. If gm did use Eatons are they rebuildable? I know eaton sells clutch kits on their site but will they fit the 80's era eaton factory posi's? Thanks.
