xmission cooler lines

Apparently, the stock tranny cooler lines have clearance problems with the Edlebrock TES y-pipe. one tranny cooler line rubbed against the y-piper while the other against the starter. so now i have 2 leaking tranny cooler lines. am i going to have to replace both of these lines with stock ones or some kind of custom bended lines to clear the exhaust and starter?? I'm using some high pressure hose, but it's not stopping the leak, and hose probably isn't the best thing to use with all of that heat from the exhaust. HELP!!!! thanks

Any recommendations for places to look? I'd just assume go through NAPA for stock replacement lines, but what about the braided (flexible) lines? The braided lines sound like it'll be an expensive project, but the benefit of being able to route it around the exhaust almost sounds worth it.

I'm installing a cooler in my car and will need to make some custom lines.

Is there a reason you guys use steel or braided lines? The max pressure is maybe only 200psi, not 3000psi like the brakes. I'm sure GM uses solid just for durability.

I wonder if there is some cheaper plastic line that would work, like maybe something you could find at Menards?
