Just another general tranny ques

Simple as that. I loved my TH350.. If only it had one more gear. If my car had the 700R4 stock, is there a simple way to make it stronger and more reliable?

I still dunno whether I want an auto or manual. Sticks are much more fun to drive, however autos are more of a luxury sorta thing. I've heard the T5 is almost garbage, I plan on putting my car threw some damage. Not killing her, But i wanna take her to the track sometimes, and I'll prob be racing so... How can I get a tranny thats good for both.. Power on the street, as well as good for a daily?

Any ideas anyone.

p.s. putting about 400 horse to the fly... performance and mileage. Such a thing exists?

I dunno my old TH350 with 3.23 rear end at 100kmh she was at 3200rpm.. ouch

Truth be told a 700R4 and a WC T5 are probably on about level footing stock in terms of strength.

You can rebuild a 700R4 to take more power, but I wouldn't call it simple. To realy get a reliable performance trans you need to rebuild and replace just about everything, and blueprint it along the way.

You can upgrade the durability and strength of the T5 too though. There are super alloy gears, and even the G-Force kit.

It's all about what you want the car to do, how you want to drive it, and how much you want to spend. Ultimately, doing anything right is neither easy or cheap initially, but you've got to weigh that against the long term benefits.
