I have a 75 formula, an 84 firebird, and a 1999 firebird.
The 99 has just developed a hard shift from 1st to 2nd.
It is automatic and shifts hard into 2nd takeing off fast or slow.

I know I can't ask here, however I have not had any luck with the fourth gen sites.
Where can I find out about this shift problem and get some feed back.

Could just be a broken 1-2 accumulator spring.

 

I had the same problem with my non-electronic 700-R4 and it was a broken 1-2 accumulator spring. If you drop the pan the accumulator housing is right in view and isnt too hard to get off.
