30 or 27 spline for TC?

I've got an 87' and I'm ordering a 2400 stall converter tonight, I'm going to pick up a TCI 12" lockup and I wanted to be sure. I want 30 spline for my trans right?

I'm looking to get this:

OR

Why the huge price difference if they are both rated the same?

I too am looking to get a converter for my 92, and was told that after 1985 models they are 30 spline.

They actually changed from 27 to 30 spline halfway through the 1984 model year.
