I'm going to buy a brand new 9" rear end with 4.11's in it. The guy bought it for his LT1/T56 '89 GTA, but he said it wouldn't fit with the Spohn Torque arm. I've got a stock torque arm on my '88 T/A. Will this rear end fit without problems?

 

Why wouldn't it work? Sure as hell works with my 9"

 

If its designed to fit into a 4gthen, then it should also fit into a 3rdgen with minimal fuss.

The rear is from Currie and the 3rd member was bought local from a buddy.

 

Well I'm getting a Currie 9" Rear. The guy swears it'll fit the stock torque arm..it just didn't fit his Spohn Torque Arm. Will a Currie 9" rear fit the stock torque arm? I just wanna make very sure.

 

I don't see why it wouldn't fit. Call up Currie and ask if you want to make sure. There was one thing I had to do though, change to the other set of holes for the torque arm. The 10 bolt used the inner set and when tried with the Currie, it pushed the arm out too far hitting the underside. Using the outer set of holes sucked the arm back in. The stock arm isn't as bulky as the Spohn one so it should fit.

 

Ok, here's the deal. The guy who bought it for his '87 GTA, he said everything bolted up right, except for the Spohn Torque Arm. He also said that the rear will come with disk brakes, and all the related brake cables.
I've got drum on my T/A, is there anything else I'll need to put this disk 9" rear in and get it working..besides a new prop valve?
