So anyways. When you do a cross rotation of the tires. Some tires that rolled one way, now roll another. Basically the tread is now being used backwards. Which doesn't matter as tire designer know this.
What I wonder about is putting tires on backwards / on the rim.
Ya know most tires have a good side and a bad side, some don't.
And usually the side with the DOT stuff is the bad ugly side which gets put on the inside of the rim.
Since basically car tires run in either direction. does it matter if you mount them "backwards"
I got good alignment, I check my tire pressure often. But I have noticed that my front tires still have an uneven wear pattern. They both look alike but the inside of the tread is larger then the out side edge. Like a little ramp effect going on. I still got plenty of tread but was considering mounting the tires on backwards to even things out. and by then it will be time for tires. Not this summer but next.
doing an all 4 rotation is kind of out of the question now. [ya know how rear tires seam to fade quicker and uneven with the peg leg.]
So I just do a cross /side to side rotation. But on the front it wont help unless the tire is flip on the rim.
long, drawn out, hope it made sense.
