The servos regulate the application of the band and clutches inside the transmisson. Servos with greater surface area provide greater holding power, and reduce the chance that the trans will slip. Several companies offer them, but the Corvette servos are some of the best to use, and can be had from your local GM dealer. I don't know the part number off hand, but I'm sure someone here does.
the gm corvette servo is very efficient.the bigger piston multiplies clamping force based on the very basics of hydraulic principles.example 200 psi apllied to 1 square "is 200psi clamping force .200 psi of clamping force applied to 3 square "is 600 psi clamping force .bigger servo equals more clamping force firmer shift less slip.
